Roast chicken with GRECO yogurt

Ingredients for 4 persons:

450 g GRECO strained yoghurt (10 % or2 %)
1 whole chicken
8 garlic gloves, quartered
2 green peppers, diced
Juice of one lemon
1 bunch of parsley
50 g butter
Salt, pepper


In a large bowl, thoroughly mix lemon juice, Greco cream yoghurt or strained yoghurt, garlic cloves and green pepper. Now wash the chicken and rub in with all the yoghurt marinade, put it in the bowl and leave it in the refrigerator overnight. In a pan, lightly sauté the parsley. In parallel, take the marinated chicken out of the refrigerator and let the marinade drip off. Add the collected yoghurt marinade to the parsley and in the pan and bring it briefly to a boil over low heat. Now place the chicken in the pan and fry it for 5 minutes on each side..

Pre-heat the oven to 250°C and melt butter. Place the chicken in lightly greased casserole dish or on a baking sheet, pour the melted butter over the top of the chicken.

On the middle rack, roast the chicken in the oven for approx. 45 minutes. 5 minutes before the chicken should be taken out of the oven, add the marinade from the pan and finish roasting the chicken.
